Thrift Shop Volunteers
We are always looking for additional Thrift Shop Volunteers to help at the South Bethlehem Thrift shop on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM. Please contact the UPG Executive Assistant (Kathi Raphael – 610-867-0519) if you might be interested in helping with this important ministry!
Blanket making occurs on the third Tuesday of the month. Come to help from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Social Room on the St. Peter’s Campus, located on the parking lot level. No previous experience needed! The folks gathering will help any newbies. Skills of scissor cutting, ironing, and knot tying are all that’s needed to help create a blanket that when finished and distributed somewhere around the world will help keep people warm, safe, secure, and give them a sense of being loved.
Donations of large pieces of fabric (60 X 80 inches) and all colors of embroidery floss are always needed. You can bring donations to the St. Peter’s Church Office anytime.
UPG CRAFTERS’ NIGHT
On the third Monday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 PM you are invited to join with us for Crafters’ Night. The group meets from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the UCF Room on Level 1 on the St. Peter’s Campus. Ring the Church doorbell and you’ll be let in. Whatever craft you enjoy, bring it along with you and enjoy the company of other crafters. There are plenty of chairs and a sturdy table place to work on your projects. Bring your own supplies, patterns, ideas, and energy! Some work on scarves, prayer shawls, chemo caps, blankets, baby toys, etc. Show off your craft specialty. It is a quiet time away from the noise of the loud world we live and work in all day. When projects are completed, prayers are raised for those receiving the gifts made with hands of love.
NOTE: Crafters’ Night is usually the 3rd Monday of the month, but in April 2019, the Crafters will meet on Monday, April 22nd , the 4th Monday, the week after Easter
More Opportunities to Feed the Hungry
Hunger is prevalent everywhere, and that includes the city of Bethlehem. Two of our outreach ministries involving meal preparation by volunteers are Victory House and New Bethany Ministries. Please contact Linda Maule (610-691-2321) if you can volunteer for Victory House (to provide a Sunday evening meal every other month) or Marilyn Musgnung (610-691-1314) if you can volunteer for New Bethany (to help prepare a meal on the 3rd Thursday of every month).
A number of members willingly volunteer their help. But, our outreach would be much more effective if there were more volunteers to support our efforts. “Many hands make light work.” Please volunteer.
