More Service Opportunities

Here are more opportunities to serve in the name of Christ

Please see monthly calendar for next dates

Thrift Shop Volunteers

We are always looking for additional Thrift Shop Volunteers to help at the South Bethlehem Thrift shop on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM. Please contact the UPG Executive Assistant (Kathi Raphael – 610-867-0519) if you might be interested in helping with this important ministry!

Blanket Making

Blanket making occurs on the third Tuesday of the month. Come to help from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Social Room on the St. Peter’s Campus, located on the parking lot level. No previous experience needed! The folks gathering will help any newbies. Skills of scissor cutting, ironing, and knot tying are all that’s needed to help create a blanket that when finished and distributed somewhere around the world will help keep people warm, safe, secure, and give them a sense of being loved.

Donations of large pieces of fabric (60 X 80 inches) and all colors of embroidery floss are always needed. You can bring donations to the St. Peter’s Church Office anytime.

2018 Ingathering Donations

The UPG needs your help to collect these items for the 2018 Ingathering:
• 25 hand lotion or body lotion
• 25 women’s personal care items
• 15 dozen diapers – sizes 4 & 5
• 175 shampoos for adults or babies
You may bring the items to either campus – at St. Peter’s please place
in the basket outside the office, and at LoC in the basket in the narthex.
Thank you for your donations to people in need!

UPG Knitters Group

Join your sisters and brothers from across the UPG as we gather together on the third Monday of the month at 6:30 PM to knit bandages and various other items that will be shared with people from across the globe in need of clean and warm items. Note: The Prayer Shawl Ministry has been incorporated into this group.

More Opportunities to Feed the Hungry

Hunger is prevalent everywhere, and that includes the city of Bethlehem. Two of our outreach ministries involving meal preparation by volunteers are Victory House and New Bethany Ministries. Please contact Linda Maule (610-691-2321) if you can volunteer for Victory House (to provide a Sunday evening meal every other month) or Marilyn Musgnung (610-691-1314) if you can volunteer for New Bethany (to help prepare a meal on the 3rd Thursday of every month).

A number of members willingly volunteer their help. But, our outreach would be much more effective if there were more volunteers to support our efforts. “Many hands make light work.” Please volunteer.
